Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives. Northumberland Foster Care is committed to honour the Armed Forces Covenant. Northumberland Foster Care recognises the value serving personnel, both regular and reservists, veterans and military families contribute to our services for children and young people and our county. Many military families and veterans have what we look for in a foster family.
About us
If you are interested in becoming a foster carer and making this your career, Northumberland’s dedicated and experienced team is available to talk to you about what’s involved in making this decision. Our local staff get to know you personally – and give you all the foster care advice and support that you need.
There are many different types of fostering – and there is a child, young person or sibling group right now who need a safe and secure placement with foster carers who can help them build a bright future. As a local council, we work directly with children and young people as well as our foster carers. We know our children and our foster carers so we can match children positively with you.
Our foster carers benefit from:
We’re always looking for new foster carers, so please do contact our friendly recruitment officer to discuss any questions you may have.
