Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
At One to One Support Services we value the skills and qualities Veterans, Reservists and military spouses bring to the company.
We were delighted to be awarded the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold award in 2020 which celebrates our continued commitment to also support injured or disabled ex-Military personnel by providing a variety of roles with flexible working conditions removing potential barriers to embrace them as an equal member of our team.
Our commitment is also reflected in our support to serving Reservists, both in their on-going training commitments and operational deployment by providing company policies and procedures which support and advocate theirs and their family’s employment. Our own buddy and mentoring system is particularly successful in helping their transition into the Health and Social Care sector. We also encourage joint partnerships with local barracks by offering joint training opportunities in a suitable learning environment by offering free employability courses at our City & Guilds Training Academy for ex-military personnel and their families.
About us
Founded in 2006 by Managing Director Melanie Ulyatt MBE, One to One Support Services provides high quality, high calibre staffing and specialist support services to people within the community, supporting them to live as independently as possible, leading fulfilled lives, having full choice and control, enabling them to be citizens in their own right. The services are person led, flexible and responsive.
We are also a lead provider of Health and Social Care training including specialist training for those working with people with additional needs, specifically sensory impairments. This includes apprenticeships, mandatory care knowledge and skills set courses and a wider portfolio and vocational experiences. On January 21st 2020 we were certified as a Disability Confident Leader.
In addition to the running of the company, Melanie holds the role of National Vice Chair of the Federation of Small Businesses where she remains promoting employer engagement and raising awareness of the covenant and commitments business can make at a local, regional and national level.
