Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
As a Veteran Aware Hospital:
We have recently appointed an ‘Armed Forces Covenant Lead Nurse’ (the only such role in the South East) to ensure the Covenant is fully met within the Trust, managing a new quarterly initiative actively recruiting to ‘NHS’ and ‘Engie’ vacancies.
About us
We have been rated "GOOD" overall by the Care Quality Commission. Queen Alexandra Hospital started life more than a century ago as a military hospital. Today it is one of the largest, most modern hospitals on the south coast, with 1,200 beds, hosting a Joint Hospital Group. We provide comprehensive secondary care and specialist services to a local population of 675,000 people across South East Hampshire, offering some tertiary services to a wider catchment exceeding two million people. The Trust employs over 7,300 staff and is the largest employer in Portsmouth.
Our Trust Vision is Working Together driving excellence in care for our patients and communities.
