Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
We hold a Silver Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme as we are already recognised as a supportive employer for those who undertake military reserve activities. We grant additional paid annual leave for all permanent employees as part of our commitment to the Corporate Armed Forces Covenant to which the Association signed on 15th February 2014.
We are committed to ensuring a positive working culture for all of our employees, as well as help employees to achieve a healthy balance between their work and personal commitments.
The RAF Association understands the impact encountered by spouses, partner and families of serving personnel as a result of their commitment to service life. Access to employment has been identified as a particular challenge due the nature of military life, along with the provision of early years childcare. We understand the difficulties’ for those left behind when a loved one goes on deployment, the upheaval of relocation and also the impact of not having the support of immediate family nearby.
About Us
The Royal Air Forces Association (the Association), is a membership organisation and registered charity that provides welfare support to the whole of the RAF family.
The Association exists in the recognition that RAF personnel and their immediate families dedicate their lives to their country, and to ensure that such a sacrifice does not result in suffering, poverty or loneliness. Whether it’s an injured airman fighting to get back on his feet, a young child missing their parent away on overseas operations, or a World War II veteran needing a shoulder to lean on, we are here to help all generations of RAF Service personnel and their families.
