Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is fully committed to the Armed Forces Covenant and recognises the value of employing Veterans and Reservists and the skills they bring; as the first Trust in the West Midlands to sign up to the NHS Step into Health programme we take referrals from that programme, and other agencies.  The Trust is also a member of the Wolverhampton Covenant Board. 

The Trust’s has in place a policy for Reservist Leave, Training and Mobilisation which provides up to 16 days paid leave.  We also provide support to military spouses and partners including a comprehensive range of Family Friendly policies and Health and Wellbeing Resources including mentoring support and advice to aid transition into the civilian workforce.  We have a staff network where our ex-forces employees are encouraged to support each other and buddy. 

We are proud to have achieved the DERS Gold Award in 2020.
