South Kesteven District Council

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

South Kesteven District Council is committed to creating a culture where staff are valued and supported. The Council supports a culture of openness and mutual respect in which a healthy worklife balance can be achieved in an environment where staff can develop to their full potential. We know that people; their skills, capacity and commitment are the key to delivering and improving council services.

South Kesteven District Council is committed to supporting the Armed Forces community and recognises the value serving personnel, Reservists, Veterans and military families bring to our organisation. We strive to support the values of the Armed Forces Covenant in many ways, including:
• We will always consider offering an interview to spouses/partners if they meet the selection criteria laid out in a job advert.
• We will support spouses and partners to work from home where appropriate and look at flexible working  opportunities.
• We will support training and development which helps staff
• We will look sympathetically on requests for leave before, during or after a partner’s deployment
• We will grant special paid leave for employees who are bereaved or whose loved ones are injured.
