About us

Over the past few years, South Yorkshire Police has made great strides in our journey to becoming an outstanding organisation. We are one of the country’s top performing forces and rated most improved force, for the third consecutive year, in our HMICFRS inspection.

Our trajectory is entirely positive and we have ambitious plans for the future. To support our resurgence, and provide the public with the service they desire, we need to attract the best candidates to work alongside our existing officers and staff.

Our force encompasses full spectrum policing, offering a broader range of roles and fulfilment than might be available in some other forces. Whether you want to work in the community, become a detective or have your sights set on our firearms team, your opportunity awaits with SYP.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds, and we know your difference in experience brings with you a wealth of skills. So, if you care about people and want to make a positive difference, you could be SYP’s next officer.
