SSAFA The Armed Forces Charity

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

We help our people to develop and improve their skills and knowledge so that they grow professionally and personally and contribute to achieving our goals. We are working to create a learning organisation through training and coaching. We address learning needs at all levels across the organisation through provision of a wide range of programmes, from leadership and management development to customer service and time management. Our objective is to help our people realise their full potential.

Why else work for SSAFA? :

  •  It’s all about people! We are motivated to do our best for our teams and for our beneficiaries. Read more in our testimonials on our website.
  • Our employees range from 21 to 81 years old. We value the experience of our workforce and learn from each other.
  • We are lucky enough to have employees from a wide variety of backgrounds – we celebrate and value diversity within the organisation, promote equality of opportunity, and challenge and strive to eliminate unlawful discrimination.
  • Over half of our senior positions are held by females. We actively promote internal career progression for our female employees by identifying where we can support the development of their skills and help them to prepare for their next role.
  • We also offer a range of benefits and enhanced policies in place to support our employees.

About us

SSAFA provides lifelong support for our Armed Forces and their families. Every year, through our award winning teams and services, we provide support to over 82,000 people worldwide.

SSAFA helps the armed forces community in a number of ways, though our focus is on providing direct support to individuals in need of physical or emotional care.

Addiction, relationship breakdown, debt, homelessness, post-traumatic stress, depression and disability are all issues that can affect our members of our Armed Forces community. Many of these problems only become apparent when an individual has to leave their life in the Forces and join ‘Civvy Street’. SSAFA is committed to helping our brave men and women overcome these problems, and rebuild their lives.
