Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
Suffolk County Council along with all of Suffolk’s borough and district councils signed the Armed Forces Covenant in October 2012. Suffolk County Council has led the covenant partnership and provides advice, guidance and strategic engagement to a range of local statutory sector partners as well as engagement with the voluntary sector via the Suffolk Armed Forces Covenant Board. We engage our local armed forces community at a strategic and tactical level and have partnerships within the local business community and voluntary and charity sectors. Our action plan includes Education, Training and Employment as one of four key themes. We have a dedicated website to communicate the plan, activities and services that support our local armed forces community.
About us
Suffolk County Council provides or enables the provision of good quality services for Suffolk people. Our priorities (2017-2021) are:
Our Suffolk Jobs Direct employment platform now hosts a range of job vacancies for local authorities and allied organisations, such as schools or charities. Individual vacancies that may interest service spouses are occasionally circulated to Unit Welfare / HIVE Information Officers, however, we do encourage online registration to get the most of the platform.
