Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

RACPD is a charity training provider who is committed to supporting the Armed Forces community. Our workforce is made up of two thirds ex-military and dependents which means we have a high level understanding of military life and issues. We strive to support the values of the Armed Forces Covenant in all of our processes and procedures including:

  • We will consider offering an interview to spouses/partners if they meet the selection criteria laid out in a job advert.
  • We advertise all our vacancies internally for people to refer friends or those leaving the military.
  • We advertise all our vacancies on local regimental part 1 orders and welfare facebook pages.
  • We encourage staff to apply for other suitable positions within RACPD 'on postings' when appropriate.
  • We will support spouses and partners to work from home where appropriate and look at flexible working opportunities.
  • We will support training and development which helps staff not only in their current role, but will also be of benefit in future employment.
  • We will look sympathetically on requests for leave before, during or after a partner’s deployment.
  • We will grant special paid leave for employees who are bereaved or whose loved ones are injured.
  • We offer an enhanced leave policy which enables our reservists to participate in annual camp.
  • We grant additional days leave during Christmas and New Year in line with the military to ensure our employees can maximize their family time.

About us

Established in 1998, the RACPD is a thriving and successful provider of apprenticeships and nationally recognised qualifications to the Royal Artillery, other Service personnel and the wider Defence community including veterans and dependants.

RACPD offers over 40 civilian vocational and professional qualifications to soliders, veterans and dependants to help improve skills and knowledge, both in career and in preparation civilian life. Covering a wide range of subjects within courses, from Logistics to Telecommunications, Teacher Education and Training, Functional Skills and Leadership & Management.

Serving military personnel and veterans can access learning credits, either Standard Learning Credits (SLC) or Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC), to offset the cost of chosen courses. Providing a number of free courses and, because we are a charity, providing various courses at subsidised rates.
