About us
Located in the North West of England, the University of Chester is a modern, dynamic and enterprising institution with attractive campuses throughout the beautiful Roman city of Chester. A teaching led, research informed University, we seek to make a significant contribution to the community. We have a caring and supportive culture underpinned by a series of core values that help to define our mission and strategy.
The University is one of the oldest English higher education establishments in the country, originally founded in 1839 for the professional training of teachers.Today, we offer a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, foundation degrees and apprenticeship degrees across our campuses in Chester, Warrington and University Centre Shrewsbury. We believe in creating an outstanding learning experience and supporting every student to reach their full potential.
We strive to provide a working environment where all colleagues feel supported, are equally valued and recognised for their contribution. We are a Disability Confident employer, supporter of Mental Health First Aid England and an Athena Swan accredited institution. We are also host to the Westminster Centre for Research in Veterans.
