Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

The University of Chester has pledged its commitment to the armed forces community by signing and promoting the Armed Forces Covenant.

The University recognise the vital role played by members of the armed services in protecting national interests.  We also acknowledge the value that serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our organisation with a variety of transferable qualities and skills.

The Covenant identifies ways in which the University will uphold its principles and demonstrate the commitment made to the armed forces community, including the following :

  • By promoting the fact that we are an armed forces-friendly organisation
  • Seeking to support the employment of veterans, service spouses and partners
  • By supporting employees who choose to be members of the reserve forces, by accommodating their training and deployment where possible
  • Aiming to actively participate in Armed Forces Day
  • Acting as independent chair of the Cheshire Armed Forces Covenant Partnership.
