Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

University of Essex recognises the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families
bring to our business. We will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, by:
• promoting the fact that we are an armed forces-friendly organisation;
• seeking to support the employment of veterans working with the Career Transition Partnership
• striving to support the employment of Service spouses and partners;
• endeavouring to offer a degree of flexibility in granting leave for Service spouses and partners before, during and after a partner’s deployment;
• seeking to support our employees who choose to be members of the Reserve forces, including by accommodating their training and deployment where possible;
• aiming to actively participate in Armed Forces Day;
• offering a discount to members of the Armed Forces Community through continued engagement with the Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) scheme and revision of our ELC courses offered.

About us

The University of Essex employs over 2000 staff across a wide variety of roles.

You may be looking to work in an academic role, or one of our professional service roles,  you might want to be part of our campus services team, or work on maintaining and developing our estate. You could find a role as part of the team at Wivenhoe House, our four star hotel located within the grounds of the campus. Whatever your background you will find a wide variety of roles to suit different levels of skill and experience.

Our staff and students are members of the University for life, working together in a research-led educational environment to inspire us to want to explore and embrace what we do not yet know.

As an employer, we offer a range of benefits and a commitment to career development and equal opportunities in an environment that both reflects and creates a rich interaction of people, disciplines and ideas.
