About us

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a major acute trust serving the people of Wigan and Leigh in the North West of England, within the Greater Manchester footprint.

We serve a local population of 326,000 and we provide specialist services to a much wider regional, national and international catchment area. Innovative and forward thinking, we are dedicated to providing the best possible healthcare for the local population in the Wigan Borough and surrounding areas.

The Trust aims to continuously provide safe quality care to all patients. Over £220 million is spent each year on a diverse range of reputable general and specialist acute services. We provide our acute clinical services from our five main sites: Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wrightington Hospital, Leigh Infirmary, Thomas Linacre Centre and Boston House. Our community services are provided from a range of locations across the borough.
