Yeovil Hospital

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

At Yeovil Hospital, we are one big multicultural family, coming from all walks of life to provide care and support to the local population. We know that service personnel have a lot of fantastic skills that are transferable and perfect for the health care setting, which is why we are fully committed to providing you and your families the support needed to transition into the career you want.

We have a dedicated framework that offers flexible working patterns, further support for employees during mobilisation and demobilising, an employee assistance programme offered to all staff that provides free advice in various fields including finance, legal and mental health. The hospital also has a dedicated Equality, Diversity and Inclusion lead who is always on hand to provide extra support with the transition into civilian employment and helps run various staff networks. We currently have a thriving military network which offers a safe space to meet and join likeminded individuals. We look forward to you joining our family.

About us

We are an NHS acute hospital, proud to serve 200,000 people in South Somerset, Mendip and Dorset. We have around 2,200 staff working to provide a full range of clinical services, including general medicine, cardiology, general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, trauma and paediatrics, with an emphasis on enhanced recovery – this means we help people to recover as quickly as possible so they can return home.

We are currently in the process of merging organisations with Somerset NHS Foundation Trust to create one single NHS provider trust for Somerset in order to better support the health and care needs of the population.
