Build your future with Building Heroes 

Building Heroes provides training and employment support into a new career in construction by equipping service leavers, veterans, reservists and military families with a broad range of trade skills. 

The charity offers five-week, fully funded Foundation in Property Maintenance courses in Birmingham and around the UK. They are run exclusively for Service leavers, veterans and reservists and their immediate family members over the age of 19. No experience or previous knowledge is needed. 

Included in the course: 

  • A Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card, which is essential to enter a construction site 

  • Brickwork/blockwork 

  • Plastering 

  • Painting and decorating 

  • Tiling 

  • Domestic plumbing 

  • Carpentry/joinery  

The Birmingham course runs from 25 April–27 May, 11 June–15 July, 12 September–15 October and 14 November–16 December. 

Alternative locations and courses are available in Colchester, Harwich, (L2 in Engineering Operations), Middlesbrough, Nantwich, Aldershot, Trowbridge, Salisbury, Cardiff, Blaydon, Wandsworth, London and Sherford.
