Build your future with free construction course

Building Heroes specialises in helping service leavers, veterans, reservists and families retrain within the construction industry in association with colleges around the country.

In February 2021 the charity is running a course aimed specifically at families, with 12 places available.

The course runs for five weeks (Monday-Friday) from 22 February at Wandsworth College, London. You’ll learn carpentry and joinery, Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Test and health and safety, plumbing, brickwork, rendering, plasterboarding, plastering, painting and decorating, Makita Be Safe and tiling. When complete, you’ll gain a City & Guilds level one diploma in Property Maintenance, Health & Safety and a CSCS card.

If you live outside of the London area, Building Heroes can put you in touch with organisations who offer grants and bursaries to help cover your accommodation or travel costs. All safety equipment and uniform are provided, and the workshops adhere to social distancing rules.
