Career Pursuit – a career guide for military spouses, partners and veterans

Thursday, June 17, 2021 Career Pursuit – a career guide for military spouses, partners and veterans

A magazine has just been published, which provides tailored advice to military spouses, partners and veterans looking to build a career that works for them.

It has been created as a response to the UK Government’s report, Living in our Shoes, which looked at the effects of military service on family lives, including the challenges spouses and partners have in their working life.

It delivers solutions to military spouse and partner employment problems highlighted in the report by bringing advice and resources for both job seekers and entrepreneurs together in an annual publication.

Launched as a pilot magazine last year, it has grown into a fully-fledged publication with 900 copies distributed to Army, Navy and RAF information offices UK-wide.

From articles on how to start a podcast to pensions for business owners, what you need to know about salary negotiation, and how to access free digital marketing courses, Career Pursuit is a wealth of advice, resources and contacts.

Along with AFF and the other Families Federations, other organisations featured include The Military Coworking Network, the MILSPO Business Network and Supporting the Unsung Hero.

“There has long been a need to combine career resources available to military spouses and partners to remove the difficulty of accessing advice and raise awareness,” says editor-in-chief and military spouse Helen Massy.
