Employment Programmes

Military spouses face unique challenges that come from having a partner in the Armed Forces. From sudden deployments to unexpected moves, to a reserve unit being mobilised for duty; these situations can be unsettling and challenging. Amazon recognises this and has policies in place enabling a career to be maintained at Amazon, including job portability, options for remote working or extended sabbaticals allowing the employee to return to employment at Amazon at a future date. To support the Military spouse community, we have the global Amazon Warriors@ Military Spouse Affinity group.  The Military Spouse group provides a place for Amazon’s military spouses to engage with and support one another, promotes the value of military spouses in our workplace, and advances the needs for military spouses to drive successful careers within Amazon. Interested to work for Amazon?  Visit Amazon Jobs

In addition to the above we also have a military talent pool, which includes Military spouses. Want to register your interest to work at Amazon?  Why not add your CV to our talent pool.  Recruiters actively source candidates from the pool.

Cradle to Cyber Pathway

Aimed at candidates who have no previous professional I.T experience, the Cradle to Cyber pathway is a five-step process that blends training and employment, to take people from new to the industry, to suitable for junior cyber security roles in an 18 month – 2 year period. The steps are as follows:

Stage 1 – FastTrack Training – A one week, hands on training course that takes place at our facility in Crewe, Cheshire. This is a free course that teaches the fundamentals of I.T engineering including basic, hardware maintenance, logical fault finding and networking. Once placed into work upon completion of the course, up to £180 of accommodation costs incurred can be reimbursed.

Stage 2 – Temporary Employment – Project Work, working a variety of I.T support positions to gain fundamental industry experience & access to Fortinet Certified Fundamentals. This employment will be ongoing through stages 3&4 also.

Stage 3 – Cyber Foundation training begins after a period of 6-12 months, and includes CompTIA Network+, Security+ and Fortinet’s Certified Associate training course. There is a cost attached to this portion of the training, but the training partner used is ELCAS approved. For those without credits, personalized payment plans can be arranged with our finance team. This training is remote and designed to be flexible to sit alongside work commitments.

Stage 4 – Specialised Training: With foundational skills and experience now in place, it is time to identify an area of specialisation the candidate would like to focus on. The roles that we support from here are:

  1.                 SOC Analyst
  2.                 Compliance Analyst / IT Auditor
  3.                 Network Security Engineer
  4.                 Cloud Operations Analyst.

The training that you receive at this stage depends very much on the role that you have chosen to focus on but whatever your choice, is free of charge.

Stage 5 – Cyber Work Placement – With a CV full of relevant qualifications and a solid period of I.T support experience, we can now put the candidate forward for cyber vacancies with our employment partners.

A full digital brochure outlining the process can be accessed here.
