Introduction:

Boeing Commercial Aviation Services Europe Limited (BCASEL) is an EASA and UK CAA approved Maintenance Repair Organisation with approval to provide Line & Base Maintenance services on 737 NG, 737 Max, 777 and 787 aircraft.

Due to continued expansion, we are looking for an Aircraft Check Manager to join our organisation. Prospective candidates are required to hold a valid UK CAA Category B1 or B2 and Category C Part 66 Licence with 737 NG, 737 Max, 777 and 787 type ratings.

The Aircraft Check Manager will have overall responsibility for the management of Base Maintenance inputs from the initial planning stage through to post aircraft delivery wash up. They will provide day to day oversight of production staff and will be the point of contact for escalation of any technical issues. They will chair internal and customer update meetings, working closely with the Planning Department to ensure production plans are driven to execution.

This role reports to the Maintenance Manager - Production and is based at the London Gatwick Hangar facility working a rotational shift pattern. A degree of flexibility is expected including a requirement to work overtime if required.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the release of aircraft to service on completion of Base Maintenance.

  • Coordinate and assign manpower within the designated aircraft maintenance input.

  • Manage and execute daily work plan to ensure aircraft on time delivery.

  • Monitor performance against production plan and provide status updates to customer and internal stakeholders on work accomplished.

  • Escalate issues identified that will impact planned targets and formulate recovery plan to maintain aircraft delivery schedule.

  • Responsible for the timely inspection and completion of maintenance, including progressive sign off of all completed or partially completed work.

  • Ensure aircraft technical log book, maintenance documentation, job cards, work packages and handovers are completed accurately and within prescribed timescales.

  • Maintain a high standard of husbandry and cleanliness within assigned work areas.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company processes and procedures.

  • Responsible for duty of care and safety of production staff assigned to the aircraft maintenance input.

  • Promote a just culture and report all incidents and occurrences in the Boeing Safety Management System.

  • Actively support, promote and contribute to continuous improvement ideas and lean principles.

  • Assist the management team in the day to day running of the London Gatwick Operation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid UK CAA Category B1 or B2 and Category C Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.

  • Type ratings on 2 or more of the following aircraft - 737 NG, 737 Max, 777, 787.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years exercising certification privileges with proven experience managing complex Base Maintenance inputs including C-Checks, major modifications, cabin reconfigurations etc.

  • Demonstrable experience performing Category C Certifying Engineer function including release to service on completion of Base Maintenance.

  • Ability to hold and maintain appropriate company authorisations specific to role.

  • Comprehensive understanding of Part 145 regulations.

  • Have prior experience of accessing on-line Boeing documents through MyBoeingFleet.

  • Previous experience of using AMOS.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Effective problem solver with a solution focused mindset.

  • Flexible worker who is prepared to adjust working hours to meet operational demands.

  • Be a team player who will grasp opportunities to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers.

  • Proficiency in using Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to learn in house systems.

  • Meet the requirements to hold a London Gatwick Airport airside pass.

  • Candidates must have the right to live and work in United Kingdom.

Work Authorisation:
