Location:   Service Headquarters, Tovil, Maidstone (with hybrid working)

Salary:       Grade 8 £47,076 – £52,397 per annum

Hours:        Full time - 37 hours per week

Being an Applications Technical Lead

As an Applications Technical Lead in our IT Team, you’ll be a valued member of a small team with the responsibility of maintaining and supporting a suite of related business applications that includes our Finance, HR/Payroll and LMS applications.

What you’ll do

  • Provide 3rd line support for specific business applications to internal colleagues helping to resolve incidents that 2nd line are unable to or do not support
  • Direct a team of passionate and knowledgeable professionals, ensuring effective resource allocation and performance management across a broad spectrum of projects
  • Oversee the day-to-day support and maintenance of business-critical applications ensuring high levels of availability, reliability and performance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers, suppliers and other IT teams to facilitate effective communication and collaboration
  • Work with the Applications Manager in the development of the business plan in line with business requirements and the IT Service Plan
  • Proactively monitor product roadmaps, identifying functionality that would benefit the Service and recommend timeframes for upgrading
  • Ensure transition of knowledge to enhance the teams’ technical abilities and increase their first time fix rates.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience of supporting HR, Payroll and Finance applications
  • Skills and experience in trouble shooting business applications
  • Relevant practical experience within a similar work environment
  • Experience of working directly with customers and stakeholders to improve services
  • Confidence to be able to influence and support improvements to both internal and external services
  • Ability to work on own initiative
