Sweco’s Fire Engineering team are currently looking for a talented and motivated Apprentice Fire Engineer to join our team in our Manchester office.

As an Apprentice Fire Engineer, you will study for a BEng(Hons) in Fire Engineering with the University of Central Lancashire which is taught in block release sessions giving you the flexibility to combine your work and studies. 

What does the role involve?     

During your time as an Apprentice, you will spend 80% of your time on project work and 20% of time studying.  

Working with Sweco will give you the opportunity to work on landmark projects and schemes of all shapes and sizes.  You will also learn from experienced people who share a passion for working together with our customers to deliver technical excellence.

Our Fire Engineering team work on a wide range of domestic and commercial projects and you will have the opportunity to broaden your expertise and work collaboratively in exciting, transformational projects.  Not only with clients but also with our partners.

To be successful in this role you’ll possess:

  • An interest and basic understanding of UK Fire Engineering.
  • The desire to learn, progress and challenge yourself.
  • The ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with Clients and other team members and to produce written documents in clear English.
  • A Level (or equivalent) grades BCC and above in Maths or a science related subject (Physics, Chemistry or Environmental Science).
  • GSCE Grade C or 4 and above in English (or equivalent).
  • GSCE Grade C or 4 and above in Maths (or equivalent).
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.
