About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Behaviour and Welfare Officer to join our student experience team based at our Blackbird Leys  College Campus. The purpose of the role is to ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for staff, students and campus visitors.

You'll be collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support student progress through Trauma Informed and Restorative Practice approaches, enabling them to manage their own behaviour and learning. You will work with staff and students to raise standards and expectations to support positive behaviour on campus.

Working collaboratively with our Safeguarding team, you'll promote and advocate for internal support services and make referrals to these teams as appropriate to ensure students access interventions at appropriate times in order to remain on programme, achieve and progress.

This a full time role, term time only (44 weeks per annum), based at our Blackbird Leys College Campus.

What do you need to be successful as a Behaviour and Welfare Officer at Activate Learning?

Successful applicants will require a level 2 or GCSE in English and Maths Grade A to C, Safeguarding training and experience of working with young or vulnerable adults, dealing with challenging and confrontational behaviour and collaborating across a large organisation.

You'll be skilled at engaging young people and developing and delivering learning activities for them. You'll be ambitious for their potential, with a strong commitment to quality and improvement.

Ideally you'll possess further experience of working with hard-to-reach learners and training in control without conflict and restorative justice.
