Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to take their next step in their career as a Business Support Manager to help deliver soft facilities management services to one of our HMRC contracts. As a key member of our organisation, you will play a pivotal role in delivering excellence in food, catering and cleaning services while representing our company values.

Your Role as a Business Support Manager

As a Business Support Manager, you will ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and legislative standards on site while fostering engagement among staff. This includes ongoing personal development to enhance skills and knowledge, as well as maintaining strong client relationships. Attendance at team briefs, huddles, and meetings is essential, alongside upholding professional work standards and caring for company equipment. Additionally, the role involves acting as duty manager on call and providing holiday/weekend cover as needed.

Collaboration with department managers to coordinate service activities across the site is crucial, with a focus on achieving and maintaining service standards outlined in agreements while adhering to budgetary constraints. Monitoring and maintaining Health & Safety and Food Safety standards, driving performance through promotional activities, and contributing to site budget performance are key aspects of the role. The role also entails overseeing operational excellence, including labour management and employee performance, while actively supporting engagement initiatives and cultivating positive internal and external networks. Finally, ongoing professional learning and development in soft Facilities Management services is encouraged, along with the completion of any other reasonable tasks or instructions from management.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Experience in junior management within soft FM service industry
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Proficiency in HR tasks like recruitment, training, and performance management
  • Excellent numerical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Knowledgeable in health & safety, food safety, and decision-making.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working within HMRC environment 
  • Previous experience in effectively managing in a similar role
  • Health and Safety qualification equivalent to IOSH managing safely
  • Food safety qualification equivalent to CIEH level 3
