Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1,500 people in the UK. BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers including many training services. As the company grows we have a need to expand our current Training Capability in the Vertical Lift domain. This is an exciting time to join a growing team of training experts.

The UK C-17 International Training Centre (ITC) in Farnborough, provides both aircrew and maintainer training to a wide range of international operators of the C-17 platform. We have an opportunity as a C-17 Maintenance Training Instructor based at the C-17 International Training Centre in Farnborough.

Responsibilities:

  • Development, delivery and evaluation of technical training to C-17 Technicians for a variety of International Customers.
  • Conduct analysis to evaluate customer technical training needs to determine appropriate training content, objectives and design.
  • Establish processes for identifying training content and evaluating training effectiveness. Use specialised software technology to research, configure, maintain, update and develop new and existing media and materials.
  • Gather data to support complete proposal development activities.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of training products.
  • Coach and develop others.
  • Provide training services that meet the highest technical and quality standards.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are met whilst adhering to company policies and processes.
  • Embrace first-time quality as a way of life - not accepting, creating or passing on any defects and speaking up.
  • Identify and correct conditions and behaviours that affect employee, public, and customer safety; upholding safety standards; demonstrating a proactive safety culture.

The ability to obtain UK Security clearance is essential.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experienced aircraft engineer
  • C-17 Globemaster III engineering experience
  • Previous instructional experience within military or civilian aircraft engineering training (DSAT or Part 147) environment
  • Previous experience as C-17 Maintenance Instructor
  • Management experience
  • Instructional Techniques course
  • Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as avionics, mechanical or systems
  • The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas, cultures and functions
  • IT proficiency, specifically Microsoft Office applications
  • Skill and ability to: collect, organise and analyse data; summarise findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
