Your Role as Catering Manager

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as Catering Manager at one of our Government Defence contracts which delivers catering, retail and leisure facilities to the Armed Forces. As a key member of our organisation, you will play a pivotal role in delivering excellence in food and catering services while representing Sodexo's values. 

As a catering manager your role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities critical to our site's success. You'll continually enhance your skills, maintain strong client relationships, and actively participate in team meetings. You will strive for quality in everything that you do whilst also handling customer feedback promptly and effectively. Your commitment to exemplary standards extends to caring for equipment and ensuring measures are in place for health and safety regulations. You will be responsible for managing costs within budgetary constraints and ensuring accurate pricing. Collaboration with other department managers is key to planning and executing service activities efficiently.

Your focus on service excellence will ensure the operation's smooth functioning and contribute to its growth and success.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Relevant management/catering experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level.
  • Have one or equivalent of the following qualifications: BSC (Catering), MHCIM, HND, City and Guilds 706/1 and 2, NVQ level 2 and 3, and an intermediate level food safety certificate.
  • Strong numerical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of health & safety and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Desirable:

  • IOSH and CIEH qualifications or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of managing client relationships.
  • Experience in leading, managing, and developing teams.
  • Previous experience in a military environment and/or PAYD experience.
