The job itself

Required to start as soon as possible. Kings Mill School & Residence would like to recruit a Child Care Officer to work 30 hours per week in the residence. Various shifts are available between Monday - Saturday. Made up of shifts 7am-10am & 3pm-10pm.

Kings Mill School & Residence cater for children and young people with a learning disability and we seek a person who is committed to this client group and who will be enthusiastic in enabling children and young people achieve their full potential.

You will be reliable and enthusiastic with an ability to engage with children and young people who have varying special needs. A minimum of two years' experience working with this client group is required.

The successful candidate will hold or be willing to work towards a Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent and be competent in writing reports and compiling information. You will have a good understanding of current practice, key legislation as well as the social, emotional and psychological development of children and young people.

Informal visits are encouraged and can be arranged by prior appointment.
