We are looking for dynamic and passionate children's rights and advocacy officer to join the fast paced, forward thinking 'Hear Me' team.

'Hear Me' (Herefordshire’s Children’s Rights and Advocacy Service) provide a confidential, professional independent advocacy service to children and young people in need or looked after by the local authority. 

This role is to provide an issue based or representative advocacy service to in and out of county, Herefordshire looked after children and care leavers from birth to 25 years old and young people in need of protection, aged 5-19.
 
•To provide independent Advocacy in line with the National Advocacy Standards to support young people to raise issues and concerns about their care, and assist participation in or make representations at their Looked After Child Reviews and child protection conferences or any other meetings that impact on their lives.
•To facilitate children and young people to express their views, wishes and feelings in the decision making processes that effect their lives by either enabling them to represent themselves or by speaking on their behalf or both
•By being passionate and have confidence in promoting children's rights by building constructive relationships with social care staff and all professionals involved with young people.
•To be Accountable for your work and should ensure that work output and quality is of the highest quality and in accordance, where appropriate, with current regulations/legislation/Council standards.
