The job itself

We are looking for exceptional, caring, and flexible people to join our Lifeline team for East Riding of Yorkshire, to play a key role in a service that helps adults live independently in their own homes. The service provides a 24-hour 7 days a week support network for older and vulnerable people within their own homes by responding to Emergency situations, Falls,Telecare Alarms and Welfare checks when customers are discharged from hospital. Though this isn't a carer role, on occasion you may need to offer some personal care in an emergency.

We are recruiting on a rolling basis and will shortlist and interview during the application process and before the closing date.

We urgently need staff to work on the night shift between 10pm and 6am, this shift attracts a night rate enhancement.

You will work independently on a shift pattern (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am) from various central bases throughout the East Riding, responding to centralised calls to support vulnerable adults in their home, including general welfare checks and assisted lifting from a fall. On some occasions you will have set tasks such as fitting and servicing new equipment. This is a fast paced and rewarding job role, with daily interaction with Customers and Service Users. Full training will be provided.

We are looking for candidates that are enthusiastic and committed to providing a high-quality service with a flexible approach and the ability to adapt to a changing environment. You will need to demonstrate that you can communicate clearly and concisely and have basic IT skills; no previous medical experience or training is necessary although you will need a caring attitude and a willingness to learn.

You should be able to demonstrate you are organised, customer focused and able to work to specific timescales. Having a flexible approach to your working day is essential coupled with a positive and proactive attitude. You must have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Community Responders cover a wide range of location that are split into the following bases:

Hub 1: Beverley

Hub 2: Driffield

Hub 3: Bridlington

Hub 4: Haltemprice

Hub 5: Wolds

Different shifts are available 7 days a week, full time 37 hours (2 days off) or Part time from 22.5 and 29 hours. These shifts are on a 4 week rolling rota.
