Job Description

Location - UK - Flexible home-based and / or offices in London, Carlisle, Sheffield, Bristol - Plus national travel to attend site visits where required.

Hemiko are recruiting for a Connections Manager reporting to the Head of Connections. You will be responsible for working with the public sector, private businesses and developers in towns and cities where we are developing low-carbon networks. You will lead on the delivery of these connections pulling on internal stakeholders where required.

This role is core maintaining relationships with building owners to address their decarbonisation challenges.

The Role 

As a Heat Networks Connections Manager at Hemiko, your primary role will be to engage with public sector buildings, businesses, and developers in towns and cities where we are establishing low-carbon networks. This position is vital for bridging internal and external stakeholders, working closely with building owners to implement decarbonisation solutions.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will be expected to cultivate a strong presence within the local community, particularly among private and public sector organisations. This will include attending industry and local events, as well as networking functions which will be essential to building relationships and representing our organisation effectively.

The Connections Manager plays a pivotal role in facilitating the successful deployment of low-carbon networks and the widespread adoption of low-carbon solutions, which are fundamental to driving our business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new low-carbon connections for new and existing heat networks through research and business analysis and your own self-initiative.
  • Work with building owners throughout the process to facilitate a connection to offer a decarbonised solution and mitigate the need for fossil fuels.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local and national organisations, new-build housing developers, local authorities, and community leaders. This will in turn create connection opportunities for new heat networks but also expansion of existing networks.
  • Arrange meetings with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Be a regular face in the local community by attending local engagement events. To raise awareness of heat network benefits and establish the company as a trusted partner in low-carbon solutions.
  • Attend regular industry events on behalf of the company
  • Develop an understanding of our technical and commercial offering quickly to aid your ability to present to clients.
  • Work with the commercial and technical team team to deliver offers to our connections. You will own the relationship and facilitate the connection through to contract terms being agreed. You are be expected to lead the offer process, drawing on key departments when they are needed.
  • Interaction with marketing and social value teams to ensure that opportunities are being explored.

Candidate

We are seeking a self-driven and community-minded individual, experience in a sales, business development or account management environment would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a proven track record of independently sourcing new opportunities.

 Additionally, candidates should demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and build rapport within the local community.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the capacity to work autonomously as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A genuine commitment to making a positive impact within the local community and driving sustainable solutions.
  • The ability to work using your own self-initiative, with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • The confidence to deal with all key stakeholders within an organisation to develop trust and buy-in and must be comfortable at presenting at a senior level.
  • Ability to work independently coordinating between multidisciplinary teams.

  • Remuneration: Base £35-45k depending on experience.
