East Riding of Yorkshire council is looking to appoint a Construction Assistant to join their busy Civil Engineering Team.

About the role
You will be working closely with a team of talented and experienced engineers, both in the office and remotely from home or a project site office. Supporting senior staff, you will provide design input and technical knowledge for a wide range of highway infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. This will include projects such as, road design, junction improvements and cycle way design schemes
Requirements:
- A good standard of education 5 GCSE's grades 1 - 9 or equivalent, working towards a NVQ3/BTEC or equivalent in a construction related field.
- Awareness of Construction Industry.
- Good, communication and numerical skills required.
- Proficient in the use of IT for mathematical / engineering analysis, awareness of AutoCAD is advantageous but not essential.
- Awareness of the New Engineering Contract.
- Awareness of CDM regulations.
- Awareness of Project Management.
The council will also support you in improving your skill set further and gaining professional registration with the help of the other experienced members within the office, there is always room for improvement for a motivated individual.

Your demonstrable skills and abilities will complement a multi-disciplined group of professionals in an exciting and evolving team.
You will be customer-focused in your regular dealings with the public, Internal/external contractors, Consultants and other government bodies as well as maintaining good working relationships within the team and with colleagues across our organization.
