The role

If you enjoy working in a fast pace environment working on the front-line then this is your opportunity to join a busy Customer Services Team dealing directly with customers on the phone and face to face to ensure they receive the best service possible across the whole council. You will work on the Meet and Greet Desk and in the telephone contact centre.

Main responsibilities

Working in the telephone contact centre dealing with a range of enquiries including parking, housing allocations, housing needs, waste management, council tax, benefits and other general enquiries.

Full training will be given to ensure you have experience in a wide range of department services.

Essential qualifications/experience-

Excellent written communication and verbal skills

Educated to a minimum GCSE Level including English Language

Proven working knowledge of IT packages including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

Demonstrable customer service skills within a professional office/reception environment

Desirable qualifications/experience-

NVQ Certificate/Diploma in Customer Service

An on-site Occupational Health Advisor. We have an occupational health service provided by East Kent Hospitals University Foundation NHS Trust. The service is delivered by a team of health professionals who specialise in occupational medicine and deal with the relationship between your work and your health. Occupational Health also works with us to resolve any issues in the workplace and also to ensure that well-being at work is maintained.
