As part of this Director role, you will spearhead efforts to achieve excellence in managing contracts within the Contract Logistics Government and Defence sector. Your focus will be on driving growth in strategic leverage areas, all while providing an integrated KNUK solution that exceeds the expectations of our valued customers.
YOUR ROLE
As a key member of the Kuehne+Nagel Contract Logistics leadership team you will set the strategic direction and vision of Contract Logistics and drive a culture that delivers collaborative working, engagement, added value and continuous improvement. Connecting all component parts of KNUK to deliver an integrated end-to-end service to customers and to cement a "One KN" culture, is essential. Leading the Government and Defence contract not only empowers you to shape the strategic course but also through collaborative and joined up working across Kuehne+Nagel UK, deliver first class logistics solutions that exceed customer expectations. Taking a proactive approach you will be accountable for the delivery of Growth, Fiscal and Operational standards for existing and new contracts within the Government and Defence sector in line with Kuehne+Nagel expectations.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acting as a relationship manager and role model in dealing with multiple stakeholders Customers, Government, and the Military.
- Driving excellence through people is an integral aspect of the role. Setting standards of performance and behaviour, creating an inclusive and collaborative environment where colleagues can fulfil their potential are all critical to success.
- Driving the growth agenda for new business within key leverage areas of the KNUK portfolio in support of the global KN strategic agenda is essential to the success of this role.
- Safeguarding the security and compliance protocols for KNGD observing Government standards and removing KN reputational risk.
- Providing Leadership in areas of Government statutory requirements for high visibility areas -example Rail, Security and Firearms/Munitions compliance and standards.
- As a key member of the Kuehne+Nagel UK leadership team you will set the strategic direction and vision of Contract Logistics and drive a culture that delivers collaborative working, engagement, added value and continuous improvement.
- Driving the growth agenda for new business within key leverage areas of the Kuehne+Nagel UK portfolio in support of the global Kuehne+Nagel strategic agenda is essential to the success of this role.
- Provide strategic vision and leadership, leading and safeguarding commercial mechanisms, budget setting and targeting.
- Acting as a relationship manager and role model in dealing with multiple stakeholders Customers, Government, and the Military.
- Develop and deliver business plans that are aligned to the organisation's growth strategy for the market sector.
- Monitor and ensure high levels of contractual and operational delivery performance.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
- Contract logistics operational management experience along with managing employee relations and customer/trading relations.
- Advantageous knowledge of the Government and defence sector.
- Exceptional leadership and decision making coupled with the ability to respond to customer and business demands.
- Exceptional relationship management and communication skills to create a true cooperative and collaborative relationship with all stakeholders.
- Identify business development opportunities.
- Lead and live the values of KN values and ethics.
