Job Description

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) are one of the largest Government Departments and employers with over 66,000 staff throughout the United Kingdom. HMRC is going through a technical revolution, our ambition by 2025 is to be one of the most digitally advanced tax administrations anywhere in the world.  HMRC Change Delivery Group is the forefront of this transformation, a vast operation with one of the largest and most complex IT estates in the UK to help serve our customers and colleagues

The Director of Technology Programmes will play a key role in our continued transformation, leading a cluster of technology driven programmes with a goal to improve the technical health, remediate old systems, and upgrade aging technology for stability, efficiency and security.  It is an incredibly exciting place and opportunity to take the next steps of your career.

We are looking for a collaborative leader with a clear vision for driving successful project management methodologies and standards.  The budget for the technology programme will be in the excess of £250m over the next three years, therefore a strong track record of managing multi-million pound technology change programmes is required as well as experience in influencing senior stakeholders.  A solid understanding of cloud models is also essential (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
