Job title: Engineer - Engineering Governance

Salary: £47,683-£52,426 (commensurate with skills and experience)

What you'll be doing:

  • Working for the lead senior engineer, creating, and developing parts of the Engineering Operating framework and Governance Systems
  • Creating policies and processes to help reduce risk and improve program efficiency and effectiveness across the international engineering teams
  • Create and deliver several parts of the assurance framework and auditing plan
  • Deploying policies and processes across the engineering organisation
  • Supporting a culture of continuous improvement

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Have a degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience
  • Have knowledge of Engineering Governance principles ideally gained from at least one project
  • Ability to travel (UK mainly with possible occasional international travel)


Desirable:

  • Experience in working with at least one external Customer (e.g. UK MOD)
  • Experience tailoring and applying engineering processes, tools, and approaches to develop innovative and creative solutions, whilst meeting governance requirements

The Future Combat Air Systems Acquisition Programme (FCAS AP) Team:

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineer working in Engineering Governance to join the Global Combat Air Programme/Future Combat Air System Acquisition Programme

Working within the programme integration team, your role will involve supporting UK industry and International Partners in the creation, development, and deployment of parts of the Engineering Operating Framework and Governance System. This role is an ideal entry into the Defence Aerospace Industry

The ideal candidate will be proactive, collaborative with effective communication skills to influence, resolve and explain Engineering Governance matters to non-specialists and other engineers. This role provides an opportunity to join the exciting programme at its early stage and offers an excellent opportunity to represent BAE Systems and UK Industry on the international stage, helping to secure a long-term healthy business for the Nation's Industrial Air Sector
