About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller to join our finance team at The Investigo Group. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial operations of our organization. Your duties will include:

 

  • Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software or databases then filing hard copies
  • Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure
  • Paying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Accountant of errors
  • Recording any inconsistencies to help the Accountants reconcile inaccuracies
  • Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets
  • Help preparing employee wages
  • Help managing employee expense claims
  • Helping the Accountant with administrative duties and preparing yearly accounts
  • Checking customer’s credit and approving or denying it, based on industry standards
  • Ensuring customers pay on time and charge them for overdue invoices
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Implementing changes in the company’s credit control system

 

We are looking for someone with a strong background in financial management, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

 

Requirements

 

    • Ideally Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field but not essential
    • Proven experience in a similar role
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
    • Expertise in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
    • Experience with financial software and ERP systems
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Knowledge of IR35
    • It would be ideal if you have a Certification in Bookkeeping or equivalent to demonstrate proficiency in bookkeeping principles and practices.
    • It would be ideal if you have an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Qualification or equivalent work experience to demonstrate accounting principles and practical skills relevant to the role.
