Job Title:   Fleet Administrator

Location:   Based at Distribution Centre, Loose Road, Maidstone (with hybrid    working)

Salary:       Grade 4, £26,457 - £29,339 per annum

Hours:       37 hours per week

Being a Fleet Administrator

At Kent Fire and Rescue Service we pride ourselves on being there for our customers across Kent and Medway whenever they need us. We work together, supporting one another to achieve this. As a Fleet Administrator you will be a vital part of a dynamic team, with focus on reaction, response and recommendations. You will undertake a variety of tasks that will add value to the running of Heavy and Light fleet vehicles and equipment ensuring they are ready for deployment

What you’ll do

  • Provide first line telephone response for Fleet related enquiries for both internal and external customers ensuring timely and appropriate action is taken.
  • Monitor fuel stock levels for KFRS bulk fuel tanks, raise and place orders to replenish stock and update fuel monitoring systems.
  • Schedule regular vehicle servicing, MOT, DOT and vehicle inspections to minimise vehicle downtime.
  • Create job cards for scheduled events for heavy and light fleet vehicles and both ladders and breathing apparatus compressors.
  • Complete and maintain relevant documents and electronic systems.
  • Contribute to the planning of day-to-day activities.

What you’ll bring

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Working knowledge of business administrative systems and processes.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and plan your own workloads.
  • Basic IT skills and experience with office applications and electronic management systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with colleagues at all levels, verbally and in writing.
