Front of House Manager

Salary: £31,364 - £35,745 (pro-rata to hours worked). 

The New Art Gallery Walsall

(Permanent / Part-time)

Normal working days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday plus evening events.

The New Art Gallery Walsall is one of the leading visual arts venues in the West Midlands. Situated in the heart of Walsall town centre, the Gallery is a busy and vibrant building with an exciting programme of contemporary art exhibitions and collections displays, lively education and community events, an artist studio, library, café, conference facilities and shop. The Gallery provides a truly unique place for its visitors to experience, learn from, and participate in the visual arts. 

The role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join the team for the next exciting stage in the Gallery’s development:

Acting as Duty Manager, duties will include coordinating the planning and delivery of Front of House services in an efficient and effective manner, prioritising both visitor experience and customer care through enhancement and support of the artistic programmes. You will facilitate the efficient delivery of services to include Gallery Assistant organisational and staff development, the visitor experience and reporting of performance management information. As well as this, you will manage conferencing bookings and support income generation opportunities including the retail area, on line ticketing system, and gallery merchandise. 

You:

The Front of House Managers are important advocates of The New Art Gallery Walsall and should have a passion for art and enjoy making use of their excellent customer care skills. You will have some previous experience in a customer-focussed environment, understand the principles of health and safety, demonstrate good communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team.
