The role
As a HGV Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will work closely with one of our partners, the London Fire Brigade.

Day to day, you'll be responsible for servicing and repairing all defects on their fire vehicles. In the London fleet, you can have the opportunity to work on 32-metre and 64-metre aerials, along with the UK's first Electric Fire engine, along with servicing requirements around fire pumps.

  • Diagnose faults and test vehicles utilising equipment available and using recognised test procedures and techniques. Including road testing where deemed necessary
  • Work in an efficient and productive manner, achieving the targets set out and agreed with Workshop Supervisors or Manager
  • Operate a 'Fix First Time' way of working ensuring quality of work is at the utmost standard and meets/exceeds any inspection carried out against it
  • Drive in a manner within the parameters of the law

This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Ruislip.

Essential experience of the HGV Technician:

  • Experience in Mechanical Workshops or Car Plants

Qualifications for the HGV Technician:

  • NVQ Level-3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard BPSS security clearance for this role.
