Interior Experience Feature Engineer

WHAT TO EXPECT 

 

This role exists to contribute to the definition and development of harmonised customer experiences for Interior Experiences and Wellbeing within Body Engineering to inform the future JLR products. The individual in this role will contribute to activities to challenge the way we deliver features to our customers and identify future features that will aim to harmonise the different interior functions.

 

Working cross-functionally as a part of an agile team the candidate will actively support the definition of the Wellbeing & Interior Experience features, working closely with other functions in Body Engineering, programme, quality and customer insights teams to understand the needs of our customers and identify opportunities for us to address these needs. They will contribute to the definition of the future strategy of interior experiences.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Work as part of an agile team developing concepts for future JLR vehicles.
  • Work with data to understand customer requirements and needs.
  • Creation of concepts, review and refine with stakeholders.
  • Work with User interface researchers and behaviour specialists to plan testing activities and to Interpret testing outcome to allow for refinement of designs accordingly.

 

WHAT YOU NEED

 

  • Appreciation and understanding of customer experience and have a customer-centred design mindset.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences on sometimes complex issues, topics and engineering principles and practices.
  • Ability to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style.
  • Ability to use critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Collaboration, communication and open mindedness.
  • Experience in the ability to gather customer requirements.
