About the role:

Activate Learning is currently looking for confident and motived individuals to teach Modern Foreign Language part-time Learning For Leisure courses to our adult provisions at Reading & Bracknell Colleges, for the following subjects at beginner level and above:

  • Greek
  • Turkish

You will be teaching a diverse group of adult learners from all backgrounds that ultimately share a similar passion for learning or enhancing their skill set within MFL in a friendly and informal environment. We offer both daytime and evening courses so flexibility is on offer around those times.

What do you need to be successful as a Modern Foreign Language teacher at Activate Learning?

The post holder will need to have the ability to recognise and accommodate individual's level of learning in-order to differentiate lessons accordingly.  Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, we would consider applications from unqualified applicants, with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to complete a teaching qualification.

You will encourage all students to be actively engaged in their own learning and ensure that the classroom atmosphere is positive at all times. In addition, you will have the responsibility of ensuring the following requirements are meet;

  • Developing programmes of learning activities
  • Planning, preparing and researching lessons
  • Preparing teaching materials
  • Contact/teaching time with students on an individual or group basis
  • Attending staff meetings as necessary
  • Confident in teaching remotely, strong IT skills are essential
  • You will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners
