Hourly Rate: £13.21 -13.43 (inclusive rate)

Enhancements: Weekend uplift - Time & half, Bank holidays - Double pay, Evening enhancement (shifts 8pm - 10pm)

Working Pattern: 20 hours per week on a 4 week rota (10pm - 8am)
Contract Length: Permanent
Location: Ball Tree Croft, Lancing

Ball Tree Croft are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Night Support Worker to join their team on a waking night shift.

As a Night Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide personal physical, emotional care and support during a waking night shift.
  • Listen to people and treat all with respect, kindness and dignity.
  • Undertake light domestic duties as required to ensure cleanliness, comfort, and safety for people we support throughout the day e.g., laundry, or safely cleaning an area after a person has needed personal care.
  • Complete regular hourly checks around the service, to include checking on people's wellbeing and on the security of the building.

Experience and Skills

Key Skills:

  • Interpret information, such as service complaints, and then redirect them to the appropriate person to provide quick and accurate resolution.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide clear and concise specialist advice and guidance to a range of people we support. Be able to work with a person who might be less able to express themselves and understand non-verbal communication.
  • Clear, concise basic literacy and numeracy skills to record and document activities in the care plan.
  • Deal appropriately with expressive behaviour from people and respond sensitively to their families and carers.
  • Build relationships with people from a wide variety of cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Work as part of a team completing shared tasks to deliver a service to others.

Qualifications and/or experience:

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills to record and document activities in the provider plans.
  • Diploma Level 2 in Care, or willingness to work towards, or equivalent qualification - Desirable
  • Basic understanding of Safeguarding, the needs of the people and their rights as an individual.
  • Demonstrable successful experience of working as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety practice, First Aid and Fire procedure, Manual Handling
  • Previous experience of working in a care setting and with people who have a disability or vulnerable people
