WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Powertrain NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) is a key Level 2 Attribute and is an essential differentiator in the premium car sector. With the transition to BEV propulsion systems, Propulsion Systems NVH is undergoing its most significant transformation as a Technical Excellence Chapter. Product Engineering in JLR needs a Propulsion Systems Manager to lead the Propulsion NVH Integration delivery going forward - from the definition of requirements through to final delivery and industrialisation. As an attribute manager, you will be a strategic cross functional resource for the company, developing future company strategy for processes, components and systems. You will be a prime custodian of our key technology for current and future products, expected to inspire and innovate in order to maintain a leading attribute position in the premium automotive market.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and manage the Propulsion NVH development on JLR programmes from concept to production, using standard JLR planning and reporting tools.
  • Follow Agile process and demonstrate Agile working principles internally and externally to NVH dept.
  • Be responsible for managing subjective and objective propulsion level NVH targets which are compatible with customer expectations.
  • Support competitor attribute benchmarking and futuring to develop Propulsion NVH business strategy.
  • Be responsible for all issue resolution - noting this must be done quickly and robustly, using appropriate JLR problem solving techniques.
  • Represent Propulsion NVH in communication and stakeholder management, supporting Agile Showcase events to enable a clear and succinct input into internal customer teams.
  • Actively promote and demonstrate behaviours consistent with the JLR Creators Code, to foster an environment of inclusivity, collaboration and innovation, driving adoption of these behaviours by the whole team.
  • Develop those directly working for them, supporting their growth as individuals and maximising the value of their contributions to the team. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of propulsion NVH design and attribute performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Propulsion NVH process and understanding of the different toolsets
  • Analytical skills including the ability to conduct complex analysis under pressure.
  • Ability to effectively explain complex ideas, confidently presenting these to senior stakeholders using the most appropriate toolset.
  • Expert problem-solving skills.
  • Fundamental knowledge of engineering principles relating to NVH
