Job Description

Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster

Project Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver "better trained sailors to the front line faster".

You will be an essential member of the Royal Navy's Learning and Development Organisation (LDO) working with the Royal Navy to support with all their learning and resettlement needs.

This is a part-time role working 19 hours a week Monday to Friday, start/finish times flexible

The role will be term-time based on 44 weeks a year (4 weeks in August, 2 weeks at Christmas and 2 weeks at Easter) What you'll be doing:

  • Providing Learning and Development advice, guidance, information and support to Royal Navy Personnel to help them access and prepare for education and learning and continuing professional development courses throughout their career
  • Coordinating and booking all appointments, enrolments, course bookings and classroom bookings for LDO Hub events including the annual learning and development open days, Learning & Development briefings to units induction briefings and Interviews
  • Promoting and facilitating opportunities for accessing and funding externally delivered elective learning opportunities
  • Proactively raise awareness of Resettlement amongst Service Leavers, to ensure Service Leavers are aware of the Resettlement support to which they are entitled and understand how to access such support
  • Coordinating learning credit schemes for learners

What we're looking for:

  • Strong administration experience
  • Good IT skills - MS Office
  • People person with outstanding communication skills
  • Coaching/mentoring and interviewing skills, including active listening would be an advantage
  • A military or education background would be an advantage
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Must have the ability to obtain UK SC clearance

About Project Selborne:

Project Selborne is a wide scale, 12 year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN. The consortia of partners known as Team Fisher includes Raytheon UK, Elbit Systems UK, Fujitsu and University of Lincoln together with 14 other UK-based suppliers.
