Job Description

An opportunity has arisen in Entrust Finance Services for a Payroll and Bacs Apprentice to join their friendly and well regarded team providing support and advice to academies and maintained schools.

This role is a great opportunity for someone to start a career in finance and payroll, with full training you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced members of the team whilst also gaining a certified qualification.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assisting in the processing of payroll for multiple customers as directed by the payroll lead.
  • Ensuring that legislative requirements are met.
  • Preparing and submitting customer payrolls on a monthly basis.
  • Dealing with payroll queries and answering queries from customers via our payroll helpdesk.
  • Communicating with HMRC in all aspects of Payroll including RTI.
  • Uploading pensions and looking after AE duties for customers.
  • Carry out payroll calculations such as maternity, paternity and sickness.
  • Checking Payroll results for errors and notifying customers and manager.

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

  • Competent IT and Mathematical knowledge
  • Problem solving abilities and logical thinking
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload to effectively meet deadlines
