The job itself

Would you like to support people with health needs back into work?

Do you have the skills, passion and enthusiasm to work together with individuals and employers and help people into meaningful work?

We are looking for people like you to guide, inspire and motivate!

The Council's Individual Placement & Support (IPS) Team aims to increase the number of people moving into employment from specialist community health services. IPS is a highly personalised programme, featuring significant employer engagement, in-work support as well as pre-employment support and intervention designed to support people into jobs at whichever stage of their recovery journey they are at. The distinguishing feature of IPS is that employment support is provided alongside treatment by integrating an employment specialist within the drug and alcohol treatment service as an equal member of the multi-disciplinary team.

Working closely with colleagues from Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking two Personal Advisers to assist clients in structured drug and/or alcohol treatment to secure sustainable paid employment, providing person centred advice and guidance and delivering positive outcomes for service users through the IPS approach.

One post will be based in Bridlington (37 hours per week) and one in Goole (30 hours per week).

We welcome CVs from those with a passion to:

  • support customers to affect positive changes in their own lines
  • identify creative solutions
  • engage and network with stakeholders to enable effective collaboration and partnership working
  • build rapport and demonstrate positive, non-judgemental attitudes towards a diverse client group

In return, we can offer:

  • training on the IPS approach
  • flexible/blended working arrangements
  • experienced peer support
  • An energetic, friendly and innovative multi-disciplinary team to learn from and with.

If you are passionate about supporting people into paid work and want to make a difference, we would love to hear from you. Please refer to the employee specification detailing the experience, knowledge and skills we are seeking when completing your CV and please indicate which location you are interested in. Are you IN?
