We're currently recruiting for a Platform Engineer to join our Capita One Team!
This is a hands-on role within an established cloud platforms operations and engineering team.
The team is responsible for defining, building and managing the core platforms and technologies that our development and product teams use to deliver highly available, scalable and reliable systems to our users, primarily hosted in Azure.
What you'll be doing:
- work in a small agile team that creates our core infrastructure platforms
- collaborate with teammates to produce high quality solutions
- work with our architecture team to define our infrastructure/cloud technology roadmap
- work with our development teams to optimise our deployment pipelines, and help them transition to the cloud
- continually improve the reliability of our systems
- contribute to code reviews to keep quality high and technical debt as low as possible
- play a part in out of hours support and maintenance of the platform
What we're looking for:
- experience with Infrastructure-as-code tools and approach
- experienced in programming/scripting with PowerShell and/or BASH
- experienced in Linux and Windows system administration
- experience with cloud environments (Microsoft Azure)
- experience with containers and Kubernetes
- good understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP and DNS
- network skills including firewalls, routing, load balancers and VPNs
