Job Title: Principal Engineer - Mechanical Engineering

Salary: £43,373 - £55,000 Depending on experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the design of a system within the SSNA platform
  • Demonstrating compliance with defined criteria and standards for the current maturity level
  • Developing and maturing requirements and interfaces
  • Engagement with the supply chain to collaboratively define solutions
  • Manage the work of junior staff members to support system delivery as needed
  • Experience of applying systems engineering principles to the development of mechanical design

Your skills and experiences:

  • Qualified to degree level in related engineering field - Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience in a design environment for a complex product
  • Proven history of delivering quality engineering output
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards

The Ocean Interfaces Team:

SSN AUKUS is the latest submarine design under development at BAE Systems and for the first time in history is a tri-national endeavour which brings new opportunities. The Ocean Interfaces team is responsible for the design of systems which are deployable at sea, and their interface with the platform.
