Job title: Principal Support Engineer - Systems Engineering

Location: Barrow-In-Furness or Filton

Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience

What you'll be doing:

  • To be engaged by the SSNA Systems Engineering team as the SSNA Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Reliability Centred Maintenance and Through Life Support to best influence Systems Engineering design for support optimisation
  • Responsible for derisking the generation of future artefacts by ensuring the Systems Engineering team have a clear understanding of the Model Based Definition opportunities spanning the entire submarine lifecycle when they create their artefacts
  • To provide proactive guidance and input to the Systems Engineering team regarding any through-life implications of decisions made as the approach matures
  • Ensure the 6 IPS elements led by BAE Systems are considered in the model-based approach and any artefacts as they are created

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Degree in Systems Engineering or relevant experience
  • Background experience within Systems Engineering and an understanding of Systems Engineering vocabulary

Desirable:

  • An understanding of Enterprise Architect
  • Exposure to Support Engineering
  • Professional accreditation

The Information Technology Management (IKM) Team:

The IKM team is currently experiencing a period of growth to support future programmes such as SSNA. Working with the SSNA Engineering Manager, you will help to support and provide a continual, accessible presence within the Systems Engineering team and Support Integrator on the SSNA. This colocation will drive support into the DNA of the design specialising in the development of the model-based approach and coordinating with the Digital Dreadnought activities.
