WHAT TO EXPECT


Engineering Laboratories forms the backbone of JLR's internal vehicle test and development capability, and is responsible for a wide and diverse range of activities including Structural Test, Body Rig Test, Road Load Data, Analytical Facilities, NVH, Climatic Test, and Safety Test. 


The Technologies Development team are responsible for the design and delivery of facility components, test rigs and the infrastructure required to support physical test plans. The team also lead, from concept through to delivery, the delivery of new facilities, technology and infrastructure in-line with Product Engineering strategies and requirements.


We are seeking a Project Engineer to join this team to lead the delivery of new physical test facilities within JLR.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


Lead the delivery of new facilities, technology and infrastructure according to business and programme requirements. 


Adopt best practice project management principles. 


Liaise with teams across Engineering, Finance, Purchasing, Group Safety and Property on a pro-active basis. 


Hands-on approach to problem solving and implementation of solutions.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED 


Knowledge, Skills and Experience


Health and Safety knowledge including PUWER, COSHH, CJRs, Design for Safety regulations. 


 Ability to lead and coordinate engineering projects with multiple requirements.


Communicate effectively with of a diverse range of stakeholders.


Ability to manage project deliverables including timing and spend targets. 

 

UKCA knowledge 


ECPL knowledge 


Educated to degree level in a related discipline or equivalent experience.


Experience operating and working in a technically capable team.
