Senior Project Manager

Position Description

The type of individuals we are looking for will be self-starters who strives to achieve outcomes, comfortable working alongside the client teams within their defined acquisition processes with solid experience of project delivery within MOD as well as excellent communication and consultative skills. The role will also require working in a highly collaborative environment with Defence Digital, their customers, other defence suppliers and a range of MOD specialists providing assurance and advice to projects.

The projects themselves involve the definition and delivery of IT systems and services, using both agile and traditional methodologies. As such the Senior Project Manager will require prior knowledge of ICT delivery in Defence, an understanding of acquisition and approvals practice from previous roles with Defence Digital and/or DE&S, a familiarity with the ITIL Service Management lifecycle, and experience of both traditional project management and SAFe agile practices. The positions can be based remotely or out of our CGI Bristol office, with some travel required to locations such as Corsham, Northwood and Farnborough.

Your future duties and responsibilities

The role involves:

• Leading project delivery on behalf of the MoD Project Management team.
• The production of project management artefacts (schedules, risk analysis, cost models etc) and acquisition products (business cases, assurance documentation etc) and the oversight of the production of technical documentation (architecture, requirements, designs etc).
• Running a Defence ICT competition following MOD commercial processes and best practice, working collaboratively with MOD commercial teams.
• Strong collaborative skills and good relationship management with key stakeholders in Defence Digital, their customers and with other industry partners.
• Ensuring our commitments are fulfilled to a high level of quality and client satisfaction
• Prior knowledge of ICT delivery in Defence is highly desirable.
• Experience of working in the Defence Digital or DE&S acquisition environment is strongly preferred, and familiarity with Defence systems at higher classifications is important.
